Join us for 6 sessions and expand on your Wheel Throwing skills!

Previous wheel experience is required. You should be able to throw adequately on your own and have been a part of a community studio.

Learn how to intentionally design a series of pieces with guidance through ideation, refinement, and completion. Deepen your understanding of creating taller and thin-necked vessels, curvy forms, and enhancing the finishes of your work as an intermediate potter. Receive guidance on improving the quality of your pieces and refining your process by addressing persistent habits and challenges.

Learn how to elevate your pieces:

  • Forms: Ramen bowls, collaring necks, fish bowl forms, elevated plates

  • Challenges: Narrow necks, wider and droopy forms.

  • Upgrade: Working with clay + 2 lbs and up, evenness of form, thickness of walls, ways to transform a cylinder into a bowl, new ways to throw bowls, throwing flat items, glazing properly.

  • Tips: Design, form, and function.

  • Tools and Equipment: Learn how to use a bat, ribs, throwing stick

Requirements:

  • Can centre and wedge up to 2 lbs, and is comfortable with independent studio time.

Date:

  • Sunday Wheel 3 - 100pm - 330pm - Apr 6 - May 18 (Break Apr 20)

How to Prepare and What to Bring:

  • Wear clothes and footwear that you can get a little muddy in.

  • We will provide an apron, but if you have a favourite one, feel free to bring that!

  • Trim your nails and have your hair up

Refunds / Cancellations:

  • Refunds are only available if you cancel 7 days before your first session. Please note, you will be charged a $75 cancellation fee.

Make Up Dates:

  • We understand that your schedule may not always be flexible, so If you need to miss a session, just let your Instructor know, and we will coordinate a make-up session!
