Skill Building Workshops: Teapot
Make your very own teapot in our two session teapot workshop! This class is open to first-time teapot makers, or those looking to refine their skills and learn new techniques.
The first session will focus on throwing a teapot body, complete with a gallery, spout, and lid. Participants will learn about function and design elements, including ergonomic handles and getting a perfect pour.
The second session will focus on trimming and attaching all the elements of the teapot including getting a tight-fitting lid, and a functional handle and spout.
Details:
Participants must be comfortable centering clay
The workshop does not include a glazing session. Participants must glaze their own teapot, but guidance and advice can be given!
Date / Time:
Session 1: Thursday March 6th 2025: 600PM - 830PM
Session 2: Thursday March 13th 2025: 600PM - 830PM
Availability: 8 spots.
Experience Level:
Participants should be comfortable throwing & centering 1+ lbs on the wheel
How to Prepare and What to Bring:
Wear clothes and footwear that you can get a little muddy in.
We will provide an apron, but if you have a favourite one, feel free to bring that!
